First 100000 crowd in Texas history. 101000 plus saw texas win last night. We have the record for largest crowd. Atleast intill dallas plays its game tomorow.
Not exactly, Texas' first home game this year (vs. Univ. of Lousiana-Monroe) had over 101K in attendance. The game tonight probably had over 102K. The new Cowboy's stadium has seating for only 80K, but standing-room areas are said to add as much as 20K. So they may come close...
Jerry wants that record in the worst way possible. Of course, he is getting there by selling people 25K seats that are standing room only, a majority of which won't actually be able to see the field.
It's all temporary though. UT will bust 120K here in about 10 years.
Here's my latest contribution.... I must have walked at least 3-4 miles in and around downtown late Friday afternoon (9/18). And without further adieu...
The big guy...
This is a tall building...
And so the glass crown framing begins
The early stages of the 3rd Street Canyon
Second street looking good...
A little FSR action...
From the 16th floor of the Hampton Inn...
The future Marriott site (eventually)...
From the 12th floor of the Radisson:
The base...
Below the Radisson, on the Trail...
More FSR, from the Trail...
East 2nd Street... not too shabby either...
The courthouse begins...

Nice stadium shots , Samwill89. I always wondered what the views looked like from there.
And Mopacs... I am lovin' your new camera.
And almost the exact same shot 18 months ago from the 15th floor of Hampton Inn.
I can't believe how much the city has changed in the past few years.
WOW! What a change. The 'A was but a wee lass. Also, completely forgot about that other building on the east half of the Marriott block. Man, they need something there soon!

As well as the one diagonally across the street from it.
Although, I guess I would rather wait until they get a MUCH better rendering than the one that was posted a few weeks ago. We don't need that crap downtown. It would be an embarrassment to have that across the street from the Austonian.
Thanks for posting the game pics! Brings back many fond memories.
have been wondering what y'all think about the colors of the W so far; silver blue windows and gray. There are alot of posts about the A but not the W. The gray is a big turn-off at first but may work in the long run...I don't know.
Dont want to start an arguement. The same ol one again. But common guys. Those shure look like floors to me. I mean that they are 4000 or more square feet. They may be mechanical but they will serve a purpose. And the stairwell doors to get to them? Bet the numbers on the doors say 57 58 59. Frost bank has mechanical floors too but they are more like catwalks right? Also why cant one of these floors be made into an observation deck.

Yeah, I thought the W Hotel was going to have at lease some white trim, but so far I don;t see any in these shots from the 17th floor of the Hyatt on Saturday.
And the other half of the skyline. (Well, most of it.)
