I think OP is referring to the big piece of land to the north of Quality Seafood, near Radiant Plumbing. It's a bit removed from the ACC development, though it's probably not going to be anything interesting considering the location.

Used to be a furniture store. Map now says it a Twin Liquors corporate HQ. I've often felt that folks underestimate what could be built at all four corners of that intersection. At this point in time, the highway overpass is not so overwhelmingly large as to preclude development of adjoining parcels that might mesh well with new projects at Highland Mall/ACC location. https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3187...!3m1!1e3?hl=en

Wow that's interesting, thanks. It's amazing that a project that reduces impervious cover would need a new water quality feature, especially one so far away.

For such an active time for construction in this city, it sure has been fairly quiet here on the forum lately.

Hey, how is this forum affiliated with Urban Planet? I saw the same moderators there.

There is no affiliation between UP and SSP. UP is Charlotte based and SSP is based in Canada - Vancouver area I believe. I'm just a moderator for both sites. I'm also a moderator for Skyscraper City which is based in Europe - maybe. But I really don't know because it is truly an international forum.

EDIT: This forum and Skyscraper City may have been connected at the beginning through someone (Jasonhouse) who helped the sites get off the ground. An "old timer" like Kevin may have more info.

SkycraperPage is the original - founded in 1998 in Victoria, British Columbia by Dylan Leblanc. The forum came along shortly after. I remember posting about and reading about the Texas A&M bonfire stack collapse that happened in November of 1999. This is my second KevinFromTexas profile on the forum. There was a software upgrade in the summer of 2001. That's why a bunch of people with high post counts signed up in the summer of that year. All of the profiles with dates prior to July of 2001 were reset by Dylan as a way of testing the system for some reason. At least, that's what I remember him saying. I was the 17th person to sign up again after the software switch that year. - http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/memb...joindate&pp=50

Prior to this version of the vBulletin program, there was another, but before that, it was some other version or another program, I can't remember, that didn't even require you to sign up. You could post as "anonymous user".

SkyscraperCity was founded in 2002 in Denmark by Jan Klerks.

I was here in '99! I was Ozman or something...and after 9/11 I changed my name (easier to just start over I guess). There were only handful of us from Austin and we all knew each other. There were so few folks in total that I was able to keep up with pretty much every city and their posters. We sure have seen a lot of change.

This could be another big one. It's the final piece of the East Ave. "Hotel Row" at the corner of East Ave. and River St. It's the site plan for the River Street Market & Hotel & Residences. It will take up the entire block of River St. from East Ave to Rainey St.

Here's the ground floor of the River St. Hotel that was posted for AULCC a while back.

Ouch. Looks like it takes out a couple of bungalows to do it. Javelina and Craft Pride, maybe?

The site plan shows what looks like picnic tables where Craft Pride is. So they may be incorporating it into the project.

Interesting. Maybe? I'm also interested in seeing how they work around the alley entrance, too.

To sum up recent new downtown tower activity, there are four potentially tall towers that we don't yet have height info for. Of course, there could be a lot more tall towers in the planning stages like the Railyard Condos site, for example. But these four have permits/documents on file with the City:

321 W. 6th St. - "mixed-use high rise" - same intersection as 6XG

Block 190 - 900K+ office project - should be around 700'

Tower 5c - "high rise office tower" - WTH is "5c"?

River St. Market/Hotel/Residences - If "market" means a grocery store, there could be a grocery store on each end of the Rainey area. Block 190 is the other.

Does block 190 have a thread?
