Not getting my hopes up this area's CID will make them mask or redesign the parking garage....feels like the Midtown CID is the only one that has any semblance of strict designing.

IKEA Marietta

Why in the world would IKEA build a second store only 12 miles from their Atlantic Station store?

Juniper Street should undergo transformation starting Summer 2018.

They are wrapping up Federal/State Environmental review and will be choosing contractors early 2018

The Midtown Alliance is also moving forward with the 10th Street Bridge Enhancement and have created a project portal to follow progress: https://www.midtownatl.com/about/pro...e-enhancements

It is at the same location as the Smith-Dalia project. So it appears the design has changed.

Curbed is reporting that Invest Atlanta approved the sale of the land to Fuqua at their meeting today.

I was thinking Gwinnett since it is the most populated county GA. IKEA would have been a perfect project to kick off the redevelopment of Gwinnett Place Mall.

Nice project. Looks like parking is underground. I hope the NIMBY people who live there won't go crazy over this one. I'm pretty confident Fuqua can get it pushed through looking back at his previous projects.

On other notes, I was in town today and noticed that the apartments on North avenue near glen iris and PCM are under construction now.

The Centennial Olympic Park addition is coming together- it appears they have laid sod in the new section.

The old folks home on 10th and Piedmont looks nice. It looks nearly complete.

It appears for the Colony Square 6 story office building they are going to build on top of the existing structure they are currently demolishing. They appear to be demolishing it in such a way that they are preserving the existing I beams and will use that for the first floors of the new building.

City looked great!

Census estimates of July 2016, Fulton is still the most populated county in Georgia by more than 100k over Gwinnett. And DeKalb is still the most densely populated county in Georgia by far. Even Cobb is more densely populated than Gwinnett.

Virginia Highland has been up in arms about the 1016 monroe proposal, although I hope to see it come to fruition.

I would like to propose a deal to Fuqua Acquisitions II, LLC for the 1016 Monroe project. Build a bridge over Monroe for the Beltline and you can build whatever you want on that triangular lot. Fair deal?
