Yea, I haven't seen anyone on site in MANY months and looks abandoned with rotting boards and weeds taking over everywhere. The REAL question is by the end of which December.

Lightning has struck and the earth will never be the same. There is an actual truck on site with lights in building and I even witnessed (in 2ed pic) and actual worker WORKING on site. You can see his legs below the gray beam.

They are currently erecting the base for a tower crane, which is a very expensive proposition with a high daily cost. No developer would incur such a large expense just for show, so this is a very positive sign that contruction is soon to follow.

Not for a man that has his own crane. Still a chance this all could be for show

And what would be the point of assembling a crane "for show"? I know Dewberry is (deservedly) a popular whipping boy for many of us but that makes no sense.

Interesting tidbit, GTdan; I didn't realize Dewberry owned his own tower crane. Those things are crazy expensive to rent when they're in high demand, as they are now. I suspect he bought one during a lull when prices dipped, which looks like a genius move now. Someone told me that Brasfield & Gorrie also owns its own tower cranes, and pays the crane companies to erect and dismantle them as needed.

As for your second point, I got the joke! I'm optimistic that Campanile will get finished this time because the construction loan has been funded and there's no reason to delay any longer. And if the finished product looks anything like the latest renderings, Dewberry might just convert some new fans.

Planning permit filed for renovation of 444 Edgewood. The renovations include an interior fit-up for a coffee shop, boutique, and art gallery/event space as well as a creation of a rooftop patio and a multi-level deck in the rear of the property.

Legacy is nice infill for downtown. The facade fits in well with the surroundings.

You're right. The new building behind the funeral home looks like some kind of inflated 8-bit image too. Wonder what is making designers build giant versions of tiny things? Maybe they spent too much time playing video games.

Portman Holdings is the developer seeking to transform a handful of dive bars and small businesses on a prime stretch of Ponce de Leon Avenue beloved by surrounding neighborhoods.

The land has not been sold. Portman did not respond to requests for comment.

The block eyed by Portman includes The Local, The Bookhouse Pub, Southern Star Tattoo, Friends on Ponce, MJQ, Chipotle and a few smaller retailers. Land owned by Atlanta real estate company Cartel Properties, which includes 8 Arm restaurant and Paris on Ponce venue, is included in the deal. The land occupied by Gusto, Java Jive, Honey Bubble and China Dragon is not included in the plan at this time.

The plan, the specifics of which are still unknown, is stoking the citywide tension between preserving longtime Atlanta landmarks and making room for new development.

Two weeks before news broke of the larger Ponce redevelopment, Cartel Properties bought the land on which acclaimed restaurant 8 Arm sits. It was the final piece needed to assemble 1.2 acres next to the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. At the time, an executive at Cartel denied involvement in the controversial redevelopment of the block. Cartel did not respond to requests for comment on Tuesday.

You're absolutely right, this looks like an assisted living facility in the Bronx. After seeing their Rainey Street proposal in Austin, this just isn't acceptable.
