I'm so glad there will be a new median blocking the idiots who try to do this turn thus blocking everyone from getting to the light to turn east on Braker. I honk at them all the time but they don't seem to realize they're doing anything wrong.

Seems like they might have designed it so that the far-off Austin skyline is visible through the opening in the corner of the stadium.

I thought this was precisely where they did not want to be, so far away from downtown, so I'm still amazed they settled on here. But I have no doubt they are going to be near capacity for most of their games. If they mount a camera on the roof and zoom in, they should still be able to get those covetted skyline shots they wanted albeit only the tops of the taller buildings.

Shots for what? Are we talking about TV? I’m pretty sure those cameras shoot from wherever. The Cowboys play in Arlington, but their national games have shots of downtown Dallas.

I believe the Genral's skyline comment was tongue-in-cheek - not to be taken as a negative comment about the stadium.

Keep in mind webcams are super wide so backgrounds look really far away. Dt won’t look near as far with the super long sports lenses.

Furthermore, I work right by there in the Domain and, in person, the skyline doesn't look as far away as it does in this picture. It will look very cool.

Pedestrian Access from East

Does anyone know if there is a plan to be able to access the stadium from the east on foot? This would require crossing the train tracks somehow.

There must be some way, I can not imagine people hanging out at Oskar Blues or the other breweries that are in walking distance before the game and then get in their cars and drive around. If they can not walk across its going to be a mess and dangerous (drunk drivers).

MLS Season 2021

The 2021 MLS will probably start in Feb. Will this thing be finished and if not where will they play until it does?

If they feel that is a real risk now, they can has to front load away games when they start talking scheduling with the league later this year. They could probably make it work at Dell Diamond and they could negotiate privately as oppose to talking to UT.

Cap Metro has said that they only do track crossings at cross streets or stations but I think Nova found a place where that is not the case. Officially, the closest place to cross from the east is Braker Ln sidewalk. Unofficially, the city is looking for a way to fund a station at the stadium by a tax district or a November bond. That would allow you to cross from Delta Dr. to the east.

Also, do you guys think there will be a lot of resell value to the tickets? I'm thinking about getting some extra season tickets to sell.

If I remember correctly, they plan on putting the ride hailing drop off on the Denton/Delta/Donley loop to the east of the stadium. I'm pretty sure I also saw what looked like everything you'd need for a rail station (minus the actual stop itself) in one of the site plan documents. Either way it seems like a pedestrian crossing is guaranteed.

I'll be at the experience center today at 3pm if anyone has questions they'd like answered.

I wouldn't expect any games at Dell. I'd see a purely front-loaded schedule in that case.

For example, when Portland redid their stadium, it didn't reopen until June part way through the season (MLS season started March 2nd).

Interestingly, just this month the CapMetro board voted on taking crossing policy away from the board and delegating it (back) to staff. Action item 6

But who knows if that's related.

Yeah, getting an update on a possible rail crossing/station would be nice.

And if so, are there plans for sidewalks on the D/D/D loop?

Are they looped in to any changes to the 803 and possibly adding a stop at Braker (since they're giving CM a bunch of money)?

Can you also ask about the braker/burnet improvements that are suppose to start in the summer of 2020.

Are there plans to get that done before MLS opens up ? Is the schedule for those improvements tied to the MLS timeframe. I hope COA is working to coordinate the two together.

I haven’t been paying attention to this thread that much.

Are we getting a new red line station close by the stadium? I remember it being discussed.
