Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre

Hand prints collected from community members, printed on clear 3M film that was applied to the glass facade.

A pretty decent apartment tower nearly completed in Ottawa.

Parkdale Collective at 159 Parkdale in Mechanicsville, near Tunney's Pasture O-Train.

The interior now seems to be in, this should be close to occupancy. I assume two units, on at the front and one in the back. Rental, surely?

The cladding is on for 293 King E, across the street from the market. Looks like a nice solution for the very small footprint that was available--but still waiting for a buyer.

Nice project, although I think the stair/amphitheatre thing that has gone into so many education buildings in recent years is getting a bit tired.

That is a high quality design for a high school. Reminds me of the Halifax Library and NAC expansion in Ottawa.

Like the Quebec schools. Only ones Out west I see that are that nice are Private schools in BC.

Alberta is funding Charter School construction so I expect to see some interesting designs in that. As for Public Schools, there is a centralised design and it is utilitarian.

Kosmo Kramer was decades too early

The shifted panes needs to die as soon as possible. The only saving grace here is the textures and colour.

Welcome to this distinctive slice of downtown Kitchener—an extraordinary blend of style and versatility in a building featuring two stunning residential units and a dynamic commercial space. Expertly designed in 2024, this architectural gem is a remarkable feat—just 10 feet wide yet offering over 3,200 sq ft, perfect for those seeking an inspiring live-work lifestyle or a unique investment opportunity. Each residential unit enjoys its own private entrance leading to a dedicated interior hallway and staircase—offering added privacy, separation, and flexible space that could easily serve as additional storage. In Residential Unit A, you'll find a dramatic two-storey window framing lively King Street, rounded ceiling accents, and a glass-railed overlook from the primary suite to the living room below. The upper-level bedroom includes a full ensuite, while a stylish powder room serves guests on the main living level. A rooftop patio overlooking King Street completes the experience. Residential Unit B mirrors this layout with its own private entry, elegant two-storey window overlooking Goudies Lane, and historic-inspired rounded accents. A private balcony extends off the living area, while the upper-level suite includes a full ensuite and open-to-below views. A main-level powder room adds convenience, and the rooftop patio offers stunning skyline views. At ground level facing Goudies Lane, the 600 sq ft commercial unit—ideal for a boutique, café, takeout eatery, or modern office—features kitchen and accessible washroom rough-ins plus a dedicated parking space. Set in the heart of downtown Kitchener with a WalkScore of 99, daily errands do not require a car. Just 100 metres from Frederick Station’s ION LRT stop and steps from the Kitchener Market, cafés, nightlife, shopping, and Centre in the Square. Perfect for entrepreneurs, investors, or friends buying together—this is downtown living reimagined.

^ Very nice. I have yet to go but there are certainly some mixed reviews for it.

Great views from the top mezzanine though:

2025 Halifax Design Awards: https://www.halifax.ca/about-halifax/reg...n-design-awards/urban-design-awards-2025

The winners are smaller projects, most with some kind of heritage component, and improvements to the public realm.

The Hilroy, reno of 5 storey building on the corner

Green Lantern reno and addition

Blooming Seating public art installation

Spring Garden Road streetscape

Benjamin Wier House restoration

It's kind of hard to photograph this area but it's on the right in the first pic below and on the left in the second. Keith Hall next door is a beautiful sandstone building. The rear, Ironstone Lane, is publicly accessible and used to be basically nothing. The house you see at the top of the stairs is from 1819.

Pinecrest Creek Pond in Nepean are of Ottawa. Before, this was just a grass field. It's part of Stage 2 West of the O-Train, between Iris and Algonquin Stations. The project also includes the daylighting and relocation of the Pinecrest Creek.
