I don't know why but something about that photo makes the tower look as good as a scenic skyline shot. Ha ha.

Something doesn’t make sense 300 main supposed to be 40 floors plus mechanical penthouse of another 30-40 feet not 37 stories plus mechanical penthouse .

That's 37 residential floors. There's 2-3 floors at the base that are commercial or whatever. Plus 2 mechanical I guess. So that's 41-42.

The thread title says 42. If you count the floors, I get to 39. Plus whatever concrete is sticking above.

I think they stopped at 38, so there should be another round of 2-floor columns coming in to finish up the residential floors (up to 40) and then whatever they are using to frame the mechanical floors 41 and 42.

This last push of steel will really make the building stand out as the tallest. Too bad it wasn't 100+ ft taller.

Well I'm not sure if you heard, but the government is officially going to rename Manitoba to Mordor so that it more adequately reflects the realities of the situation.

Well, on PR 204 south of Lockport someone had changed the "Gonor" sign to "Gondor" for the longest time. It would be thematic.

Currently they are on the 38th floor plate.

There will be 2 more floor plates of standard 10' floors - to 40.

From 40-41 it is 13'.

From 41-42 it is 20'.

From 42 to the roof parapet it is 20'.

So as the Department of NHL Player Safety says "In summary there is 73 ft of steel to go on top of the last steel floor plate - 38"

I found an amendment to DOPS ruling.

"There will be no hitting of any kind during construction. You must poke it's eye, pull it's hair, then slam it to the ground to complete construction. Then we all good with it."

Yes, approximately 20 ft or for reference two sections of the concrete elevator core pours.

They should really put an Eye of Sauron on that thing, to obliterate the Gonad Inns spotlight.

Nice one Peg (Hank).

I see that Earls on Main is relocating to the podium of this building. This will be an overall location upgrade given the modern amenities that I’m sure will be offered to Earls, and makes sense since it was always packed. However, it was mostly a draw for suburbanites since it had tons of parking and those people would have never otherwise come downtown. But now it’s closer to the action and will cater to anyone else already downtown, more office workers when they return, and of course the many tenants who will be moving in upstairs.

View from Graham Ave. at Edmonton St. earlier today. Scaffolding is all gone from the top now.
