SICKKKKKKKKKK

Burj Dubai is looking better and better as it gain more height and Dubai is starting to densify beyond Sheik Zayed Road, insane! cant wait to visit in a couple of years when most of the developments are done.

Love it or hate it, the BD is a remarkable achievement. Dayaaaam that is a tall sucker. An order of magnitude bigger than the Petronas or Sears, which I have been to. Hopefully will make it there someday.

El Chancho, I don't think waiting a couple of years for "most of the developments are done" is going to happen. Dubai will be going for a long, long time. Al Burj is just scratching the earth as we speak, gotta be 5-7 years away from opening, just one example of how this does not appear to be stopping.

There's always a row from top to bottom left open without any windows. Why is this? Is it for cranes and elevators to move by so no windows can get broken?

What an incredible peace of engineering! Where is this going to end?!!

I've been mostly ignoring the work being done at the foot of the tower, but now I realize that it's nicely taking shape.

I like the shadowed shots - I prefer the darker look without all the glaze

Hi all.

Here is a shot from Deviantart - Meldoux - 08 05 23.
Thanks to Darth Shemp for finding this and many other great shots there !

Thumb - as it is large.

Nice to have visual confirmation of the last record breaking height by the Burj Dubai. 649.7 m. ( yes I know the column actually sticks up above the 6.4 m. high horizontal beams of the first section of tier 19 AND they may be measuring from the Concourse Level when they do the official measurement BUT I am sticking to the plans for now )

The tallest man-made structure in history !!!

Lots of uncharted territory to venture up into now.

Looks too cosmetic, like Las Vegas. I love Burj Dubai, but something about the rest just looks too fake and commercial.

Hi Van.

Just for you - Approx. Dec. 2002 - BD Site before they started moving any sand / dirt for the BD Boulevard.

it is common construction practice, it is where things can be lifted up to a floor and taken onto it easily for construction. Basically, it is the loading dock for the floors.
