Looking at images like this I'm sure some forumers here would be shocked that the Vancouver forum is rife with posters egging governments on to remove view cones which protect views similar to this of the mountains from the city.

Currently -9 and snowing. Classic snow day with gusting winds, although the total snowfall seems like it will be only 10-15cm.

EC is drunk... temperature right on spot.

Low of -19C (wind chill of -23) last night.

The warmspot was Solander Islanfd, BC at 6.0C.

Warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 1.7C.

Currently +1C and sunny in Moncton. There is actually some melting going on!

We had some snow overnight, but probably only 2-3 cm. Still no major storms. The snowbanks are slowly growing but, this is only by gradual accretion.

Got up to -10 yesterday. Funny to see people walking from their cars into grocery stores with either their jackets open of just wearing sweatshirts. Have to say it was nice. I was able to stay outside for quite a while.

Currently 5C at my place, and pouring rain, BUT: let's fucking go! Finally!

Monday will also be my office's first snow day of this winter (compared to two full weeks worth of individual snow days last winter).

Quote:
A potent winter storm will bring heavy snow and high winds to eastern Newfoundland from Sunday night into Monday afternoon. Based on current forecasts for the storm’s track, the heaviest snow and highest wind speeds will be found on the Avalon Peninsula. The snow will be heaviest from late Sunday night through midday Monday before tapering to flurries and ending Monday afternoon. Snowfall rates look to exceed 3 cm per hour at times.

The combination of high wind speeds, possibly exceeding 70 km/h at times, heavy snowfall and cold temperatures will lead to blizzard conditions Sunday night into Monday morning on the Avalon Peninsula and possibly some adjacent areas to the west.

While the current alert for the Avalon Peninsula suggests 20 to 30 cm will fall, there is the potential for higher amounts, perhaps significantly so, depending on the storm’s proximity and speed as it passes the Avalon Peninsula during the day on Monday. This detail will become more clear over the next day or two.

^ Indeed. Sun, cloud, wind, and snow squalls and -1 at noon. Will be like this all day long.

Looking like more alignment for our first storm of winter, with anywhere between 20 and 30 cm falling from Sunday overnight through Monday. Seems as if most weather models have backed off on the idea of even heavier amounts that they were anticipating earlier in the week.

-7C and sunny in Moncton at 11 AM.

Marty's and SHH's Sunday blizzard will just be periods of light snow here - only about 3 cm expected. Still no storms on the horizon. Usually Moncton is on the storm track. This is all very strange. We haven't had a real blizzard since 2022.

I feel like this is the longest we’ve had snow cover in several years. And it’s not going anyway anytime soon.

Anyway, four coyotes wandering around on a brownfield site at Dixie and Dundas in Mississauga.
