So that monument being built downtown at Officers Square is for the war of 1812. I spoke of it a few posts back. Great news on the hotel too!

Noticed on the drive home, I saw a sign from the ring road saying Future home of Mitsubishi Fredericton. Looks like Fredericton is getting another Mitsubishi dealership

You not taking pictures anymore ? I miss the pictures that took up two pages. This page needs some color.

Seems a matter of when you go. After work and weekend afternoons is when everyone is out and about and that's when it packs up bad. If you can get out later, or early, it isn't as bad.

I went out later (after 7) in the evening Black Friday, and it wasn't too bad. The Hallmark shop even mentioned it was less busy than they had expected/were hoping for.

Admittedly, I've been a bit too chicken (and too broke ) to brave the stores much beyond that. Last weekend I didn't go out save to Superstore on Saturday, and it wasn't too bad then. (Nashwaak Superstore that is).

Last week, the buses from the malls had 3 good days (M,T and Wed, the day of the storm) when they were able to get out of the mall and down the hall pretty quick. Thursday and Friday though, they were stuck forever. One driver (on the 5:15 run) mentioned it took him 20 minutes just to get from the mall to the Prospect intersection.

This week and weekend I'm sure it'll be packed to the gills most of the time.

All I can tell you is that the Target in Fredericton is doing quite well.

Edit: I see they're coming along on the condos on Queen. Really changes the look of the end of the street!

I have been into Target a couple of times this past month and it was fairly busy. They had what I wanted in stock and staff is really friendly. IMHO Target seems to now have their act in gear. I hope they are successful in turning the corner here in Canada.

On the other hand..Sears is on life support...

When I was at Target they said if its not on the shelf ask. They dont have alot of shelf space so they have to keep a lot out back.

Looks like GNC Northside is trying to open before XMas, or at least in time for the New Years Resolution season. They've got stock in store and were putting the outside signage up tonight.

Dollerama 2NC is still without signs, I couldn't see inside to see if they're stocking. (Was just passing the building on the bus, GNC was lit up and you could see the shelves stocked and advertising up).

Was into the Dollarama last week on Main St. Asked about the 2NC location. Was told that they are planning a January open. Also that the Main St location will remain open as well

Noticed that the new Speedy store on Bishop is now open. Also noticed that brick work on the new Hampton Inn is moving along nicely

Another good reason to go to walmart. I dont want to have to go flag someone down to ask if they have more stuff out back.
