To be fair, CanadInns are no longer doing night clubs, which has been years now, and I'm glad they did.

Nothing but trouble for everybody.

It's just gonna be one massive pub, serving SPFs and chicken wings.

On a side note, new page!

Canad inns made a killing on those night clubs. Always packed. Definetly not a problem for their pocket book.

Went for a drop in at the GoodLife yesterday, beautiful facility. I wasn't sure how the rest of 330 functioned, but it actually seems like all glass parts along the driveway are for retail - and there's a lot of space there. Oddly though these areas are also fully wide open to the interior. Will be interesting to see what comes of the space.

So in theory, Winnipeg Square is kind of a 2 level shopping mall?

You can now see the scaffolding going up for the removal of the self climbing platform.

By my count they have placed up to floor 38. That leaves just the last two residential floors and then two mechanical floors till it's topped out.

I presume that means the core is done?

Yes, the core is complete. The rest will all be steel.

In fact, originally, it was to have a so called 80,000 ft2 department store..I have no idea who that might have been back then? A total of over 140,000 ft 2 of retail and as you know, a building @ 330..few floors of hotel, rumoured to be Hyatt at that time. Outdoor skating rink as well. lol Also, the original plan was for 2 - 40 floor office towers..then scaled back to 34 and then 1 @ 31 that we a; know and love 360 Main. Funny it took nearly 40 years to see a build on 330 & 360. I heard that they would still entertain a hotel atop of the only 1 floor 330 main if a party became interested. It could only handle 8 - 1 0 floors max so most hotel chains would likely prefer a standalone visible tall tower. Once covid is behind us, we shall see what the tourism industry is like & if it rebounds fully.

Tourism will definitely rebound once the pandemic is officially over.

I guarantee it.

I dont think it's a question of whether it rebounds. It's just gonna be a question of degree. I think its gonna rebound fairly well, people will get over it decently quickly, but I think the bureaucratic hangover is gonna be a nightmare and may actually dissuade people from participating as fully as they would have previously in tourism and other hospitality type activities

Everything along the Main St part of the mall has been leased I’m told.

Tourism will, but I think this is the death of lots of business travel. My boss was going to Toronto 3 or 4 times a month on business trips prior to the pandemic. This has really shown theres no need for that.
