No to gravel. A temporary parking lot needs to be paved.

Arlington is more than an eyesore. It's dangerous.

And I don't mean just the pit "protected" by flimsy temporary fencing. Last I saw, the owner couldn't be bothered to even shovel the sidewalks in front of his pit.

If ever there was a legitimate public interest to expropriate, this is it.

It needs to be expropriated. This is far too long to be in this condition

Problem is that there are literally hundreds of sites like that all over town. Some of them are even city property. So if you allow expropriation here you pretty much have to allow it for all those other sites

Enforcement (of which the city is sadly lacking) is what's needed here, not expropriation

^ What are the options through enforcement?

Sounds like the laws have no teeth to begin with

The bylaws are on the books, they're just not enforced.

You think this site is bad ? This is nothing. In my CL days we dealt with far, far worse properites. It's the lack of enforcement that's the problem. It's a city-wide problem that has been going on for a very long time

This site has had SIGNIFICANT enforcement over the years, but nothing changes site-wise.

^ it's still an enforcement problem If he won't comply

This site is no different than the hundreds throughout the city that are in the same condition

Today going home from work and waiting to walk across 102nd ave at 103rd street. As the East/West lights turned yellow, some fucking dumbass semi dump truck driver working the Tower B pit ripped passed the light turning left onto 103rd. Idiot basically ran a red it switched right before he even turned. I was surprised the thing didn't topple over he was doing at least 30-40k through the turn.

Imagine there was a guy on bicycle trying to make the light and he didn't see him, there actually was a biker while the light was green. What a fucking nut job. This the type of people we share the roads with, quite frightening.

The walks are practically never cleared either. Or when they are it's a week late.

Why can't meter maids phone in habitual bylaw infraction like this?

Honestly.. i tried to catch up to him but he was down in the pit before I even got to Ultima. Really had the mind to run down there and try talk to someone but I had a dinner to rush to myself. Wish I didnt give up so easily.
