Can you image if they shut out all the lights except for the snapper, the kicker and the goalposts. The day they can do that universally throughout the league, you'll be seeing the next era of sports viewing.

It's not a huge deal but it just seems weird. Why go to the trouble of building such small upper decks?

The closer you put the 2 levels of suites/boxes, the steeper the rake of the upper deck needs to be in order to ensure all people can see all parts of the field.

It's a balancing act really. Also, I think they have a hard time selling upper corners (just for sports in general)... they are the least desired seating option, so they decided to forego them.

Just guessing though...

(I wouldn't have minded a fuller upper tier though)

I'm surprised Chelsea were first in line for this and not a club that Philips has much closer ties to, such as PSV Eindhoven.

Esks are also adding a 'party section' though I wasn't able to find exactly where in the stadium. I'd imagine a corner replacing some of the less desired seats?

Amazing how a nearly 40 year old stadium still continues to be one of the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing stadia in the country. Even with the new stadiums on their way or recently built, Commonwealth still easily measures up and is comparable.

Phenomenal job that's been done renovating it and keeping it up to date. Wouldn't trade it for anything else.

This is pretty common around the world. Oftentimes it's the older stadiums that maintain the awe and aura of large-scale stadia. Olympiastadion, Stadio Olimpico, Maracana, Old Trafford, Parc des Princes...nostalgia plays a pretty big role but they're still impressive stadiums given their ages. For Commonwealth it's less nostalgia and more scale, if anything.

People complaining about the exterior of NMS really reminds of High school teenagers lol.

Lets put this awesome body kit on my sun fire or cavalier with a spoiler and some fake rims with a big muffler...make it look like its actually worth something....mean while your engine is a piece of shit, your sound system sucks and your interior is falling apart but hey as long as i got a big ass, spoiler my car is the best... comical really
