They've been assembling sections on the shoulder all day and the cranes are ready on each side of the road

I noticed that the Drake St bike lane expansion is in progress down to Richards St. But they have put the signal devices in before pouring any of the concrete islands and other barriers. Seems a bit backwards but maybe the design is changing.

I'm glad to see that they seem to have left room for potential highway expansion. Some of the easier fixes identified in the Upper Levels report from a few years ago were to extend the third lane on the Cut westbound to the Lynn Valley exit and to extend the Lynn Valley eastbound onramp down the Cut.

Bikeshares and scootershares (also known as “Shared Micromobility) is one of the fastest growing forms of transportation on the planet today, but cities are deeply divided on how to manage them.

I partnered with @HUBCycling to pull back the curtain on how these services work, why cities can’t seem to agree on how to treat them, and how Metro Vancouver could benefit from a regional bike share system.

Casano-Loutet Overpass crews are busy building out the temporary supports needed to pour the overpass’s 4.5m-wide concrete surface. On Feb 23 & 24 a section of Highway 1 near the site will reduce to single lane traffic from 10 p.m. – 5 a.m
