Blacks closed their location at McAllister Mall in Saint John six or eight months ago as well. It's a pity, since AppleBee's also closed, there is no longer a photo shop in the city. I was told it was because of Costco and the other box stores that they simply couldn't compete.

Really I didnt know that I havent been to the Saint John mall in over a decade.
one thing i notice with costco is the quality of the prints seem a bit cheap. Even compared to Walmart.
and for the record i am not knocking costco.

Further confirmation that the "Sleep Country" construction at the Corbett Centre is moving ahead. Surveying is now completed and heavy equipment is assembling at the site

It's probably just routing of the underground services; but it looks like they have markings and/or are working on what would be the pad next to St Hubert as well as the Sleep Country pad.

What's this building supposed to look like when complete? do you have a render that you could share? I'd love to see it

My Google-Fu has failed me; I can't find any information on what it is going to look like yet. They got a variance to go up to 30 metres (which despite what the news announced, makes it the 3rd or 4th tallest in the city, not the tallest), but otherwise I can't find anything on 211 Queen Street.

This is the statement for when it was sold.

Quote:
The proposed building will include commercial space on the ground floor, office space on part of the second floor, and a number of one, two, and three bedroom residential units on the upper floors. To address the parking needs of the new building, there will be 84 ground floor, covered and outdoor parking spaces. Since the site is prone to flooding, all habitable areas of the building will be above flood levels. Public parking spaces will remain at the back of the lot.

So 8 floors, with 2 penthouse suites at the very top by the looks of it. The rendering seems to have them almost invisible as is.

Not exactly a pretty building, is it?

It's going to have a pretty big impact on the skyline from the north side though, and really fill in that end of Queen.

It looks like a mishmash of the existing building next to it and the Victoria Tower - not a good thing IMO.

I'm fine with the river-facing side, but the frontage along Queen is just so bland and airport-hotel-ish. To each their own though.

Royale T Suites is a terrible name. Almost laughable really. I do like the look of it though. The queen street side will look ok with some signage/retail filled in.

Good looking IMO. Much better than the cheap ones we usually get around here. Example:

College Hill Road

A fourth, yellow one is under construction on the right of the green one as we speak. Adding faux stone to your plastic siding doesn't make it look good. Make an effort.

I hope they have better service then some of the other bed places here in Fredericton. My bed has been on backorder for almost a month.

I like how some of the companies tell you they make the bed fresh and they are not sitting in a warehouse for months.
