My guess is that they stick with white to fit what they precive as the simple class/elegance of the building. I think it would look great in blue as well though.

It's so funny...when I saw the renders of this tower, I loved it but I did think "my god that's going to stick out like such a sore thumb." Seeing it now just a few hundred feet from topping out, it already looks like it fits, like it makes sense on the skyline. It's as though New York's skyline is so enormous and ever-changing that every new addition just looks like it always should've been there. Spectacular

That's true. I was looking at the skyline pics, and thinking how "Gotham" like this tower is. Even though its not the classic New York skyscraper, the thin, soaring design adds a peak to the skyline, making the overall effect that much more dramatic. And it's really just the beginning. One57 was the first of the 57th Street luxury supertalls, but 432 Park is the first skyscraper in New York to truly challenge the WTC and the Empire State for dominance. It will be joined by a gang of others, all looking like they should have been here all along.

It is taller, as a matter of fact, the core is now at 1038.5 ft, only 7.5 ft bellow the Chrysler spire. With the next jump, it will surpass it.

If I understand correctly, 432 Park also gets an extra 6.5 feet (2 meters) or so ... the difference in elevation between that site and the Chrysler building. Bonus

The King of New York is about to be outshadowed by the Giants rising up north of Midtown. These photos shows just one of those guys saying "Watch your back bro. That guy at downtown is the least of your troubles."

Still have respect for the ESB and can't wait to see 432 dominate. Midtown is starting to grow out of that sea of 700-800 footers.

Miles of skyscrapers and yet, you can clearly see 432 Park rising behind the others!
