TOWER
Redundancy is the name of the game for a 60 story high-rise structure (This will be the catch phrase for Tower in the next year). The elevator Subcontractor has now started their scope of work for the project.
MID-RISE
A series of major activities have been completed for the Mid-Rise over the past couple of months. First, the Mid-Rise building literally got its first footing with the placement of a 7,700 cubic yard concrete mat. From start to finish, the pour took 18 hours (not counting all the preparation and coordination required to make something of this size work logistically) with a peak delivery rate of 500 cubic yards per hour.
The second completed activity is standing tall over the mid-rise side of the project. The erection of the tower crane was another logistical challenge that was overcome with the use of the shoring subcontractor’s crane and a climbing collar. What made this a challenge were the street use restrictions and the close locality of the overhead MUNI bus lines.
Work is now progressing to remove the bottom level of shoring and forming up the vertical concrete. Shotcrete work is expected toward the end of July.
As for the Beale Street Pedestrian Bridge? Gone.
