ESPN College Gameday had some great aerial shots of the stadium and the skyline throughout their broadcast. 6X really stood out. Can't wait for the next wave!

A frequent shot within DKR game broadcasts is from the north stands toward the new south endzone, with the eastern (and relatively more sparse) end of downtown in view. One thing that struck me yesterday was that Waterline and the Rainey towers will sit front and center from that vantage point. Looking forward to that.

Quite disappointed with the lack of architectural ingenuity. That's what you get for $70 million???

It's a huge metal shed plopped in right next to the beautiful Moody Center.

I wonder if they’ll give up their digs in north campus.

Totally agree. Texas is about to move into the SEC and this is nothing to be excited about. There are high school facilities that have more pleasing architecture. This facility would - aesthetically - be near the bottom of the16-team league.

Why couldn't they reuse the brick from the School of Social Work on the new façade? More windows? Something cool...

My goodness. The more I look at it, the more disappointed I get...

Yes. $70 million for that? That's all construction cost - they already own the land.

It reminds me of the Austin FCs training facility. Unfortunately.

Sorry but I don't think y'all know what you're talking about. It is definitely on par with other SEC practice facilities. Brick? Who cares about brick? SMH

I think it’s just the grad program.

“ Those renderings you saw on social media are not the final renderings. They’re preliminary and are being used to show donors to help athletic director Chris Del Conte and the Longhorn Foundation in raising the $70 million to pay for the project.”

I think they heard the forums outcry.

I hope they heard the outcry from many sources. Industrial shlock is definitely not what the UT @ Austin campus needs. IH35 and the rest of Texas has enough of that!

I was happy to read that as well. Wonder just how much of the 70m is going towards the construction of the 500 space parking garage being built beneath the facility? Also looking like a late '25 early '26 completion date.

That first night this news broke, I read a tweet reply saying that CDC had made a comment to the effect of that not being the final rendering. So I wasn't too upset.

I love the underground parking. They need more of it close to the stadium. It could also be used for player parking, so their cars don't get booted during the game like Ewers' did last year. lmao

That's exactly what it will be used for. Player and staff parking according to the article.

Updating continues at DKR. New stadium LED lighting has already been installed and they are currently working on installing new backlit signage for players, records etc.

I found a hidden spot where you can see the newer Southend section built on top of the older SW side of DKR.
