Often political threads when referring to Ontario invariably tend to become politics in the GTA/Golden Horseshoe and completely overlooking the other 5 million Ontarians.

Not too much that's exciting to talk about. Brian Masse (NDP) has practically no competition for Windsor West, the only interesting race is Windsor-Tecumseh with the Departure of Joe Comartin (NDP).
Windsor has been an NDP stronghold for years and I'm not sure what that has even done for us. Jeff Watson, the county federal MP (Cons) could potentially lose his seat, but he's been doling out money for the last year or so in hopes of retaining his seat.
For Windsor-Tecumseh we have Frank Schiller running for Liberals, and Cheryl Hardcastle replacing Joe Comartin for NDP, as well has Windsor city councillor Jo-Anne Gignac running for Windsor-Tecumseh (Cons). Jo-Anne Gignac has the most name recognition of the 3 candidates in that riding, but she is a conservative.
It's questionable how much being an NDP stronghold has done for this area considering they are backbenchers in parliament with NDP being a a distant 3rd in the parties. I don't see this area voting conservative considering our manufacturing has gone to shit since Harper's reign. I think it's NDP's to lose and Liberals to gain in the Windsor-Tecumseh riding, Brian Masse in Windsor west is safe.
I feel Jeff Watson might not be a sure thing either, but I'm not closely watching the race in the county so I'm unaware of the candidates going up against him.
