Big City Pickle is opening a temporary location on a vacant lot at the corner of Green and Lake Street that will operate for at least the next year. The grand opening is Aug. 9, but the courts could open this week, said Marc Boltz, president of Chicago Sport & Social Club. The courts will operate 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, Boltz said.
Created in partnership with Chicago Sport & Social Club and We Love Pop Ups, Big City Pickle has two locations in Gold Coast and Goose Island.
The Fulton Market location will start off with nine courts, but will eventually expand to 40 by spring, Boltz said. The company plans to enclose some of the courts during the winter so that players can compete in inclement weather.
Cool with waiting for projects to fill in and induce demand for a taller and better looking tower for this site. Again, it's a premiere location for a WL supertall
Is this another one of those "Bring your kids this weekend to checkout construction equipment" events, or is there some teeth to earth moving equipment being onsite? Just snapped this......
Good news this morning. Seems like this one is very much alive…

Developers Jeff Shapack and Shawn Clark are a step closer to starting construction on a massive Fulton Market mixed-use project by closing in on a luxury hotel operator.
Global Ambassador, an upstart five-star hotel brand with a 141-room Phoenix location, is nearing a deal to run the lodging component of Shapack Partners’ and CRG’s planned development at 170 North Green Street, according to people familiar with the deal.
CRG and Shapack were able to break ground on 220 N. Ada St. when the majority of Chicago developers were nervously sitting on their hands, so I'm cautiously optimistic they can pull off One Fulton when the time comes. Securing a hotel operator is a positive sign.
I guess we're desperate enough to need the new construction starts, but I was hoping this would die and something better would come along eventually. Perfect location for 800'+ or at the very least something that doesn't already look dated.
