Great! Just wanted to add that it looks like this project is about a 7 minute walk to a station. Also the graphics of the hoarding are done by a graphic artist named Peru143 who is really fun. Lives in my neighbourhood.

You can see how the other buildings in the background have been removed / are also getting ready for the project next door: https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243693

So much potential around this area. What ever happened to the proposals or plans for the large land area between the Trainyards Walmart and Canada Post on Terminal Ave?

Just saw on Instagram that TCU posted a "ground Breaking" ceremony for this site today. I guess this one is a go for this summer after a few years on zero movement on the site. Hopefully this is a start of many more TOD around Tremblay Station.

I don't know, but the ground floor plan from October 2023 showed a 747sf retail space fronting on Tremblay Rd.

Thanks. Hope that’s still the case. Projects which lack street-level retail, especially at busy intersections, are such a missed opportunity.

This project has started. A shoring drill rig and multiple excavators were busy on site today.

I still miss my greasy spoon cheap breakfasts at The White Horse.

Hard to believe this neighbourhood is on it's way to being a TOD node finally.

The Whitehorse sign is in the hydro corridor on the other side of Belfast from where the diner was.

Surprised this is a wood structure. Will they still go the full 6 floors?

I know taller building in wood are getting more common, but this seems like suburban tracked housing techniques, not the mass timber you would imagine with a mid-rise.

5 floors of dimensional lumber on top of 1 concrete floor is about as standard as it gets. I know 5 over 1 refers to the fireproofing level, but aren't they typically in the 5-6 floors range?
