Looks good to me, and inline what some people have led themselves to believe it won't create a canyon effect.

Look nice in the renders. If I was looking for a place in the area I wouldn't pick this one though, I would want an actual balcony.

This is actually quite nice. RLA is capable of good design when he puts his mind to it (or when he's hired by a developer that gives a damn). I even like this better than Hobin's bulky proposal a few blocks away.

I'm almost disappointed they added windows to that strip where UrbOttawa proposed a mural. Good for future tenants, however.

Tall-building proposals lead to planning committee approvals
Ottawa city council will consider the committee's recommendations on July 21.

Jon Willing, Ottawa Citizen
Publishing date: Jul 08, 2021 • 3 hours ago • 4 minute read

A long planning committee meeting on Thursday was marked by several approvals for tall buildings outside of the downtown core.

All developers won committee approvals for their projects, though one application drew larger-than-usual opposition from members.

Council will consider the committee’s recommendations on July 21.

Mid-rise development proposed for site of Westboro funeral home

The Starwood Group is one step closer to building a nine-storey mixed-use building at the corner of Richmond Road and Roosevelt Avenue where a residence and funeral home are currently located.

The development addresses are 403 Richmond Rd. and 389 Roosevelt Ave.

The developer needs both official plan and zoning amendments for its vision, which includes 160 residential units and 490 square metres of commercial space along Richmond Road.

Leiper, the councillor for Kitchissippi ward, supported the development application, along with all other members of the committee who were present.

I guess there's a shortage on charcoal brick so they had to go all white? Please? I hope?

Not really sure what changed, but here's a new open house on the project.

Looks very nice. Ottawas midrise game is generally pretty strong.

Any update on this project?

Does anyone have any update on this project?

Seems like this project, along with the one across the street (Westmount condo) were both abandoned.

There is a bunch of Hydro work on Richmond that keeps ripping up the Roosevelt intersection and includes them trenching down sidewalk. This work goes pretty much all the way from that intersection and also continued down near Athlone.

My non-insider information was that this has put both the two referenced projects on hold and also preventing the digging for the Churchill and Richmond project that CLV was going to start.

It was supposed to be done last summer but it's one of the few visible things that actually got impacted by the hydro workers strike.

This is now a SoHo project. No visible change to the design.

This is effectively the Mizrahi development down the street without the roof fluff.

Corner could use a little more fluff but otherwise looking pretty decent on that newest render.
