I would think this will have 2 or 3 cranes, depending on how much is built out at once. They’ll grow this with the building. Looking at the base, it looks like Arnoldin’s crane, their two of their tree of this model only recently went up in Russell Lake, so unless they bought/rented a new one, they only have an older one still available for the second crane here. Obviously it could be another form work company, but looking at the base, looks like a Peiner/Terex, and Arnoldin did Westwood’s recent buildings.

To my knowledge this still has not been approved by council. But I think with any development you can build underground levels without approval. You just have to gamble that it will be approved.

Found a really cool BIM model of the entire site on TEA Engineering Services’ website. Gives you a much better look at the scope of the project, as well as an idea of the direction the north end is going. It definitely seems like this is going to be a major density zone for Halifax moving forward. The surrounding area in particular is designated as a future growth node and this part of the north end has the most favourable zoning designations in the centre plan. 90m max height and 4.0 max FAR. Progress!

Is this the Richmond Yards crane (white, in behind near the middle of the frame)? If so, a 30 storey building will be prominent from this angle. Gladstone Ridge is visible and if I remember correctly it's only 12 or so.
