Were those taken today? Cause if so, they're gonna have to work on it all night long if it's gonna be open tomorrow. I guess it'll have to be though, since the temporary location is already emptied out.

Why the rush all of a sudden? They waited years to even start this, all the while people were begging for it.

To close the old store a day early is a bit of an 'F you' to the customers who've put up with this crappy store for a year. People do drink on monday.

Those are from March 13th, I should have specified in my earlier post. My bad. They're more than likely ready to go today.

Yep, it's open. It's bigger than the original location but not terribly huge. Kinda resembles the PATH LCBO by Union in Toronto, both in terms of size and look. Forgot to look at the hours though. A couple of my friends were in town last week on Thursday and they couldn't believe that the downtown LCBO closed at 7. Had to walk all the way to Dundurn. Totally lame.

I checked it out. The selection is a million times better but unfortunately they just kept the same terrible hours the temporary store had. I hope this is just to start and once they hire enough extra staff they give to proper hours. Wth the grocery store open until 9 next door there is no excuse.

The selection is really commendable though. There is lots of microbrew and even quite a bit of it in the cold section. There is a lot of variety on the beer side of things. Lots of good bourbon and scotch too. I'm less of a wine critic but can say there is a lot more of it including the vintages. It's a good store and a shame to have it close at 7 every day. Everyone needs to complain so they extend the hours.

I'm pretty sure the old location by King and James was open till 9 both Friday and Saturday. I remember going there during supercrawl well after 7. Ridiculous hours but the selection is as good as any other LCBO it seems.

From today's Spec:

The store will be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Appears to be a bananas typo — at present, the LCBO Store Locator mirrors the window decal: Mon-Thu/Sat 9:30am-7:00pm, Fri 9:30am-9:00pm, Sun 12:00pm-5:00pm

This store features the stingiest service hours of all LCBOs in the market — more than 10 hours a week below the average Hamilton LCBO. Every other outlet is open until 9pm Thu-Sat at minimum (and half are open until 10pm on those days).

With Nations open 9am-9pm daily, hopefully this comes up for reconsideration.

The outside of the store looks awesome.

But the hours are terrible. Who can we contact to voice our displeasure?

How can you not have an LCBO open until at least 9pm on Saturday nights with so many new hotels and condo developments in the area. It's like they're refusing money at the LCBO.

Here's the contact form
http://hellolcbo.com/app/ask/session...T2h4cDJkaW0%3D

or 1-800-668-5226 - press 0

I just talked to a representative on the phone and she told me to get as many people to call in or email as possible. The more complaints they get, the more likely they will act.

I just submitted a request to increase the hours on that support form there, citing the increase of residents downtown and the fact that the grocery store next door is also open until 9pm. Let's effect some liquor change!

The response they gave me.

Good Afternoon,

Thank-you for taking the time to contact our office regarding the new LCBO location at Jackson Square Hamilton.

I have reviewed your inquiry with the District Manager – Barb Chapple who is responsible for this location.

Barb as assured me that over the coming weeks they will be carefully evaluating the customer traffic at this location.

If traffic and sales demand it, they are prepared to open and will look at closing at 8 pm, all week, and 9 pm on Friday.

Again, thanks for taking the time to contact us and if you would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to call me.

Have a great day!
