A *thousand* realtors? Are you sure you didn't mean a hundred agents?

I was thinking the same. They looked well-prepared for a crowd, but perhaps not for one thousand people.

Conspiracy much?

I'd agree sales have slowed down and developers are doing different things to get pre-sales to move (reducing prices, offering interest on deposits, etc).

However the bank financing for projects like this are based on the presale contracts that are signed. If you are suggesting MC2 is engaging in fraud to obtain financing, that's a big accusation.

Removed slanderous post. That type of behaviour is not welcome here.

Sales launch on Sat and it is expected to sell out, I'll keep everyone posted.

Homes from 259k seems reasonable. Seems there has been a market correction, and subsequently, sales are still going strong.

On a side note. I'm always curious to see what gets someone banned. Maybe a trash bin with offending posts?

Any word on how the presales went? I drove by on my way home Friday at about 6pm. They had plenty of tents and heaters set up, but no people in line yet.

I use transit for the majority of my commutes, but I will always need a car, and yes I know they are expensive, but I will always enjoy the feel of driving (especially n the summer), and sometimes my job demands that I drive (lots of equipment, odd locations, strange times) so when I am ready to purchase (hopefully some year soon, hehe) I will definitely need a parking stall.

Looks like a "generic" Vancouver video to me.
All they did is add the principals, location distance proximities and a rendering of what looks like an amenity room or something. The only thing missing was the usual golf course and skiing shots.

Although, I don't think there has been a development that quite "honours" James Cheng as much as they have.

It's a nice video, but the building is just butt-ugly. Also funny how much they show life and vibe in Downtown, when this project is anything but Downtown.

What the hell is the Rogers Sugar building doing in there? Like someone's going to take the C-Line and then stroll through the DTES to gaze at an old warehouse?

Shame they couldn't capture the smell from the transfer station or Fraser Richmond Soil and Fibre in the vid.

Sorry. You can barely see the site from the Skytrain and for photos one would need to get off at Marine Drive. Didn't have the time today.

The old blue-tiled retail strip was torn down on Friday (my photo). According to BIV the two rental towers slated for the site have already been resold by the developer.

Why on Earth did they have their sales center in that very same building as it is now bulldozed to ground.

Over-confidence in selling out?
Reaffirmation of the promotional / non-environmental / pump & dump nature of the real estate marketing industry?

They used the same building as they already owned it and wouldn't have to pay rent somewhere else. They've sold most of the units so no need to keep the sales centre open. They knew the project would sell quickly so they wouldn't have been forced to keep the centre open indefinetely requiring it to be offiste. It's quite a common practice.
