Well, the thing about Skye is that it is the tallest thing to ever have been proposed for Halifax. Halifax's current urban planning model, HRM by Design, didn't account for anything this tall. So, either the rules will have to be rewritten (unlikely, but possible) or it will get shot down.

And even if it does go through, I don't know if the developer will hold up his end of the bargain.

most have been mentioned - georgia, human rights museum etc.

these two are pretty impressive - both in burnaby - one is a redo of a big box grocery store and parkade at metrotown

If it wasn't for the Absolute World project in Mississauga, that Burnaby proposal would have made it's skyline El Supremo for suburban skylines in Canada. - Even right now, I'm still calling it a close game, when and if this proposal makes it through.

I agree if these proposals go through it'll be a close game. But lets not forget about the entire parkside village proposal, there's what 6 or 7? 400'footers in that one development alone.

What we also must remember is that Burnaby's population is only 200 000, and Metro Vancouver is less then half the population of Metro Toronto.

So in relative terms Burnaby, and indeed all of the suburban skylines in Metro-Vancouver are indeed very impressive.

If these go through my vote will have to go to Burnaby for several reasons:

1. - I am a homer (and at least I admit it! hehe)
2. - Metrotown is perched on top of a 200 meter tall hill, making the skyline highly visible throughout many areas in the metro and adding a great dynamic effect.
3. - The huge under dog rank Burnaby and Metro Vancouver have against or big brother in the east makes it even more impressive (IMO) The same way the small population of Calgary relative to many larger cities makes its skyline just that much more impressive (IMO).
