Which it really shouldn't because both cities are quite amazing with their own both unique qualities and both cities have so much potential for future possibilities. I never could figure out why people would try to get into a debate on which one is better when they are both equally great cities and of similar size which means both cities could learn a lot from the other one.

Gritty, but with good bones. Virtually bereft of pedestrians. Nice tour. Went there 10 years ago, and from the photos, it would seem that very little has changed.

I'd not want to put down Boise either. As far as scenery and outdoor recreation goes, it is a toss (that would be true of anyplace in the PNW). Spokane, having grown up earlier (pop of 104,000 by 1910) has an architectural stock Boise will never match. It will also soon have a medical school. But Boise does indeed have youthful energy. That is largely a result of being in Idaho and thus having a better climate for business.
