That's pretty deep.

The crane went up sometime between Thursday and today (I was away for the weekend and returned to see that the crane had been erected).

DC Mud has an update on 1812 North Moore, noting that most of the below-ground work is completed and it construction is about to hit ground-level soon.

Once Uncertain Rosslyn Office Tower Reaches Milestone

Here's a webcam for the construction. Suffice to say, the views are going to be impressive.

JBG switches at Central Place (Washington Post)

JBG switches at Central Place

By Jonathan O'Connell

Washington Post

A rendering of JBG’s planned Central Place office tower planned atop the Rosslyn Metro station. (Image courtesy of the Washington Post)

"The rivalry between two towering Rosslyn office projects may subside as the JBG Cos. has delayed construction of its planned Central Place office tower and will instead first start work on an apartment building next door.

Chevy Chase-based JBG’s 533,000-square-foot office project atop the Rosslyn Metro station is envisioned as a direct competitor to 1812 N. Moore, a nearby building by Monday Properties currently under construction.

Both projects are expected to reach 390 feet, both have been asking for perhaps the highest rents ever in Northern Virginia and neither — to this point — has inked a deal with a tenant or a financing package from a bank..."

I think this project is headed in the right direction, aesthetically. I love the pyramidal crown. One could suggest that it echoes the peak of the Washington Monument...

A new tallest for Metro DC! I sure hope it goes as planned.
I think it is far more important to keep views of the capital and monuments unobstructed in D.C. than to have examples of skyscraper architecture. tI is kind of nice that we have at least one city in the United States with an entirely different feel and look. We have New York, Chicago and pretty much every other city for skyscrapers.

I need to post some new photos of this building. I would estimate that it is already 15-20 floors tall.

How tall is it expected to be: in feet and floors?

One or two 800-footers would look pretty awesome rising out of stubby Rosslyn cluster across the potomac.

I need to take some photos of this building one of these weekends. The building is already nearly as high as the Turnberry Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Rosslyn, and they've started installing some of the windows in the building.

External work pretty much done. From the webcam listed on the website for the building.
