You're probably right. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that the WEP will have direct connection to the LRT station and could continue and connect to the RE and Sparks street.

Freiman Building after conversion to the Bay (1974) before expansion over Mosgrove and Rideau Centre;

Ogilvy and Rideau;

And this one, which I can't find a postable link; it's Freiman's when it was only the taller west portion (the one with the Rideau Centre Skywalk punching a hole in it);

was Rideau 6 lanes wide in that first photo, or were people just kind of driving at random?

There no lane markers, so they could be driving at random. On the other hand, the sidewalks look narrower, so maybe.

Just took this on June 3rd, insane clouds to the west of Ottawa.

Edit: it appears SSP doesn't like displaying my photo so I'll link it:

Nice.

Flickr changed its interface slightly, but if you "view all sizes", select the size you want to post, left click on the image, then open the image in another tab or window, you should get an url that's postable. Here it is:

Last night I was at Parc Lucerne in Aylmer for my kid's soccer match. The clouds were ominous.. just like this. Nicely done, photographer.
