Looks like the exterior brickwork is well on its way - about 4 stories so far on the two buildings along King West. I haven't been down Pearl or Ray recently, just noticing the progress as I drive down King.

There's some fairly recent pictures of the construction from earlier this fall on the architect's site: http://www.tcarch.ca/projects.php?projectID=57

I think given the area, thats a pretty good height. It definitely adds some infill.

so we keep on going with 9-10 floor precidents , only under 12 floors.? Hamitlon has already a 43-floor building....what;s the point in height limits now? It;s a shitty 70s squat building. And That land is worth millions to GTA condo commuters. Let's turn prime land into a battered women shelter.

Question

Does anyone know where the residents occupying the units in this building are coming from? Did the services close down multiple smaller older residencies and make one bigger? Or whats the situation here?

Gotta admit I'm impressed with the quantity of mature trees left after construction. Hopefully they survive.

It's unusual that the trees were saved, good for them. The design of the buildings is not bad either, I like the grey brick. I didn't have high expectations for this type of project--these aren't luxury condos--it could have been a lot worse.
