I've had the same thought.
In my ideal transit plan:
1. Tunnel the Millennium Line under Broadway at Commercial and abandon the VCC Station.
2. Have the Streetcar Line built (using the money saved from abandoning another CoV pet project discussed at length in another thread).
3. Have a streetcar spur line that runs to the False Creek flats and utilizes the VCC skytrain guideway and terminates at Commercial.
