^Yes we sure do have an abundance of green trees, every leaf filling the summer air with massive amounts of humidity.

Some of your photos of those old neighborhoods are how my parents saw Phoenix when they temporarily lived there in 1957-58 when it was still a medium sized city. They have many, many color photo/slides of your city from that era, I should do some scanning and post them.

/\That would be GREAT. Phoenix has completely decimated so much of its historic housing and building stock (from the early 19th century). It would be great to see what the city looked like back in the 1950s... even if the slides are of only one street in one neighborhood.

The photos I saw were taken all over the town. My dad had just bought his slide camera when they moved there, so he has quite a collection of great shots that, at the moment, are sitting in a shoebox in a closet.
I really should make it a point to go over to their house and pick out some. (Dad also has the scanner, not me).
The folks still snowbird there in the winter and said their entire old neighborhood has been razed and rebuilt.

Somehow I missed this wonderful thread.

Great to see it not ruined by a certain troll.

Now that I can see the photos, these were nice. Lots of unusual angles that most people will never see unless you live here AND get out of your car.

bump from the cryogenic deep freeze.

Maybe some new members, especially from Phoenix, have never seen these pics. And others might want to revisit.
