Per a post from development watcher on Facebook, this has started.

Any idea if they are building all 3 at once or 1 at a time?

No insight on whether they are coming back with a new design but I will note that the current zoning calls for a max FAR of 8.0 and max height of 90m. The new zoning changes for the housing accelerator fund propose a FAR of 10.0 and(or?) 40 stories for this lot.

With the planned variation, that being three towers sharing a podium, I imagine they would have to (or want to) build all three in parallel.

There is a site plan on their website that shows it as being three different phases. Goes from east to west. This does line up with where the barriers are being placed this week.

Podiums can be built in phases. Richmond Yards common parkade is still not fully built.

The Three Sisters in Moncton is another example of three towers sharing a podium, but being built one at a time.

Hopefully we won't see tower 2 or 3 cancelled at a later time. Always a possibility when building phases. Still not totally confident we'll see the "iconic tower" at Kings Wharf.

Amazing! I see that on their website with the corresponding increase to 1350 units.
I did a count on the rendering and it's still the 33 story version, so mentally add another 7 to that!

Manga is an entity that needs a closer look. They are expanding rapidly with lots of residential and hotel projects proposed on their website. It makes one wonder how they are doing it. They appear to be a family company, with several Toor (the family name) family members in key positions. Where the money is coming from I cannot say.

I wonder how much the Province gave Magna for the former Double Tree Hotel
on the same lot.

March 2024 is fast approaching. I wonder what happens then. Is a contract extension planned?

It is approved as of right as 3 separate buildings. The common podium is not approved. Construction barricades have been laid out all around the site and an excavator is also on site.

I could be wrong but I doubt this will re-open as a hotel anytime soon with the construction onsite.

Yes for sure. I guess my question was more along the lines if anyone knows if the Province would continue to fund the shelter there beyond the March time frame, or if the building will go vacant?

Blasting permit has been submitted. I feel confident enough to list this as under construction.

I don't think a few years ago anyone would of guessed our city's tallest building would be going up just metres from the MacDonald Bridge, let alone three of them with two more 27-storey buildings also going up nearby.
