Apex 1

Apex 2

Apex 2 is drawn at a slight 15 Degree angle and Apex 1 at 30 Degree based upon floor plans.

The numbers for the top floor height and actual building heights as according to the database and Emporis make the mechanical portion of Apex 2 look huge! Is this right?!

heh, I already downloaded Andy's photo to help with those buildings.

They look fantastic although maybe Apex II is too wide?

I agree the mechanical may be too high, but it seems very hard to get a picture that really puts the mechanical protion to scale with the whole building.

I get the feeling the data on Emporis is incorrect. I'm gonna guestimate it.

Yes, its huge. (especially from the the north which is not setback)

They were planting more trees along some of the more complete buildings. There is going to be a huge park and hopefully lots of landscaping done, although I suspect not on the roof's of the low rise portion.

What's this about a rumoured 65 storey Shangri-La to be announced for University and Adelaide? - 700' too.

Apparently the proposal has already been submitted to the city, but the company has yet to make an annoucement.

That means for hotels:

1. Trump International 1,066 ft. 70 floors
2. Shangri-la Hotel ??? ft. 65 floors
3. Four Seasons Hotel ??? ft. 55 floors
4. Ritz Carlton Hotel ??? ft. 53 floors

Yes. There have been more towers coming up and on the drawing boards more in this decade than any other put together, and this decade isnt over yet.

Certainly to become one of the worlds top skyscraper citys.

Tplanner is saying over at UT that the Ritz is 203 metres. I already had sent an email to Ritz Carlton concerning the height and hope to hear from them soon.

Yea a bunch of boring old concrete for the most part, but it seems here they're more creative with their designs. Especially with the big name developers coming to town.

But do they really expect there'll be a need for that many more rooms, or just with a specific clientel...

Well given that all this potential building is for a 2008-09 market, who knows? I think their analyst know something the average Joe doesn't. Or they're making speculations of banner tourist years are ahead.

I'd hate to say it, but perhaps mike has something useful to add given he works directly in the tourism industry.
