^^^ Looks like that’s gonna be built next to the WPB TriRail station. That area will greatly benefit from some investment, especially since it’s close to the infamous Tamarind neighborhood.

In total, 4 towers that are 25 stories, construction beginning next year Q1, and the project moving forward.
I was just about to talk about that 😂... This project has been in the works for years ( before I even came to west palm beach), I'm glad they are finally close to getting shovels in the ground.

This isn't the final design because the city has some requests and complaints, but it should look somewhat like this...

Stephen Ross bets on West Palm office development — again

Quote:
Stephen Ross can’t get enough of downtown West Palm Beach.

Already the biggest office property owner in the city, Ross’ Related Companies now plans a 25-story building that will bring 456,000 square feet of work space and 15,000 square feet of retail to downtown West Palm, according to a company news release.

The tower, called 515 Fern, will rise next to the Brightline passenger train station and steps from the 360 Rosemary office building, which Related completed last year and has fully leased.

Public records show that a half-acre lot immediately east of 360 Rosemary bears the address 515 Fern Street.

The site owner ties to a Montreal-based entity affiliated with Normand Lepine, according to state corporate filings. The ownership entity paid $5 million in 2010 for the lot, which now has a 6,000-square-foot office building, a deed shows.

Construction will start next year, with completion expected by 2025, according to the release.

New York-based Related also is developing the 25-story One Flagler office building, dubbed the “hedge fund tower” for its expected financial tenant base, at the foot of the Royal Park Bridge, overlooking the Lake Worth Lagoon.

Aside from new construction, Related has been on a shopping spree in downtown West Palm.
Last year, it purchased the two-tower Phillips Point; as well as CityPlace Tower, which Related originally developed in 2008 with CP Group; and half of the ownership interest in Esperanté Corporate Center for an undisclosed amount.

Apparently, from the DAC video the elevations will be - 288 FT for the 3 smaller 25 FL towers, and the bigger 25 FL tower will be 339 FT to the roof, not including what I assume is mechanical equipment on the top.

Also the red does not suit the buildings IMO, I understand where they're coming from by looking at the video, but it just doesn't really work.

This is one of the designs that the city thinks would be best for the tower

it seems like the city favors the old design rather than the new ones

I'm not a big fan of the red either, i don't think it goes well with the building or the surrounding neighborhood. I think some Aspects of the old design were better than the new one, and personally i think it should be taller, maybe 300- 380ft tall

The ascending design would look nice, I think some aspects of the new proposal are good like the street interaction and greenery. But the parking garage looks like a huge monolith. Excited about the TOD aspect and it'll add to the neighborhood nonetheless, it's great that it's moving forward.

I just realized that "Related" (the company that's developing 515 fern), they actually unveiled this tower and a whole series of towers that they plan on building, at a convention earlier this year

https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/...ve/7338701001/

This is one of the images that they showed, that tower is 515 fern which was recently unveiled

I'm just glad that they are actually close to getting shovels in the ground, and not fizzling out as most major projects have.

This is why most of these projects are not well favored by some of the community.
Do you feel like with the way the city is moving and more younger people are starting to move in that they will increase heights even more? Im down to go up haha.

I think that might happen but the influx of young people isn't big enough to really change height restrictions unless the old people start changing their minds.

It looks like One West Palm Is now targeted to finish next year in fall 2023, but experts say the apartment tower might be built by fall 2023 but the office tower looks like it might finish construction in 2024.
