Nice cities, everyone! I believe one of the happiest moments of my life was when I discovered the original version of SimCity running in DOS some years ago. It consumed countless hours; and in the years which followed, I obtained every subsequent version of the game. In any case, SimCity in its many incarnations was like a trusted friend throughout my late childhood and teenage years, and continues to be one of the few games that I have an enduring appreciation for and play on occasion.

In any case, here are some shots of my region:

Rippling Waters is the region's main - rather Manhattanesque - urban hub:

Port Shylock is the city located to the immediate south of Rippling Waters, and I really enjoyed the way it turned out:

Thank you, my friend.

Now it is 20 millions and we are going to celebrate it with the construction of a Disney park.

This city has been built in 8 months of almost daily playing, no more than 1 hour, and resting in weekends. The ideal is to planificate the reagion before playing, in order to advance faster, because if every time that you open a new city, in the same region, you start to imagine how are you going to set it, then it will take very long time to reach large numbers in the region.

You also have to take into account that industry is very necesary for the growth of population, but if the dirty and manufacture industry is set inside the city where you stablished residential areas, then people will tend to quit, and you budget will be running out of founds.

Commertial areas provide lots of taxes to your budget, but it requieres lots of industry near to stablish. residential areas demand lots of resources, in schools, hospitals, museums, libraries, police, fire fighters, parks, churches, water, electricity etc. and yet they pay very few money

My recomendation is that you should zone industry in small cities, there you can poor your garbage and produce electricity to sell to residential-comercial cities.

Residential and comercial areas are very similar about desirability, neither residential nor comercial areas like to stablish themselves near dirty industry or garbage or electricity facilities.

Comercial offices demand lots of police, so stablish police stations near them.
Very dense Residential areas demand parks, so be generous with them if you want a Sao Paulo style zone.

Fantastic region there Jorge_Carrillo

Here is my latest project from sim city 3000 world edition.

played sim city 4 some but i wanted to go back to the good old dont like the harbours and airports in sim city 4 and the region setup makes it much more complicated to make a really big city.

here is Las Palmas with a population of 400+ thousands at the moment the city was founded in 1900 so its 160 years now

most of the commercial areas and Residental areas and the old harbour

The main financial district with the stock exchange and such

oldest part of the city

Sheik Infernal Road

New port area and marina city + water supply
