The new 357-unit, 300-foot-tall building will take shape on a now-empty lot on the east side of the island, just north of the Queensboro Bridge.
Once it is completed in mid-2025, the new Riverwalk 9 building will contain 253 market-rate apartments, plus 104 homes reserved for employees of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center — as envisioned in the original plans for the complex. (All told, 40 percent of Riverwalk's apartments are affordable, including the fully-affordable Riverwalk Park building completed last year.)

LIC is really becoming a city within a city. Without the back-drop of Manhattan I bet most people in USA ,or world for that matter, would have no idea its part of the greater NYC.

Construction is rapidly moving along at 43-30 24th Street, a large 66-story residential skyscraper in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Carmel Partners, the 731-foot-tall tower will yield 921 units spread across 838,000 square feet and 17,400 square feet of ground-floor commercial retail space. Carmel Construction East is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by 43rd Avenue to the north, 44th Road to the south, 24th Street to the east, and 23rd Street to the west.

Appears that it's lost the metal banding between the floors, which helped break up that broad glass face. Not the end of the world because the glass looks nice enough, but not ideal.

yeah that would have been great if they kept it... now it's just another soulless glass slab of which LIC has way too many.
