Tks to Daniel from Montreal at BigSoccer

An interesting look at Canada's Gold Cup rosters by where and what level the team members played (from 2000-2015).

Funny how just seeing the country, the player's name comes to mind: Tony Meneses (Brazil), Daniel Imhof (Switzerland), Ante Jazic (Austria)

So will not scoring any goals help us in the rankings?

And only 15000 people at BMO field for the match. Too bad it wasn't played in Vancouver.

A downpour of rain will do that to attendance.

So where's this great up-and-coming Canadian men's soccer team I keep hearing about?

Was at the game. Voyageurs did their part.

No idea why none of these tfc fans never show up to canada games. Time to start supporting your country.

Well um we just tied the team that made it to the qfs of the world cup knocking out italy and england from their group.

Having said that our coach has lost the plot with defensive minded substitutions and sstartinng line ups when a win is the only thing that will get us through.

Right now the only 2 possible options for the national team are: BMO or Saputo.

No other stadium is an option unless they put natural grass.

Theyre open to friendlies on turf. Not official matches though.

Someone new will have to host over the november and march wcq dates as bmo will be under construction again. Will be interesting to see who hosts.

Hmm, I wonder... did we play their A squad or their B squad ? Did we actually competed with their full fledged team ?

They played their A squad. This is the Gold Cup, everyone sent an A squad. And it was a can't lose game for them as they'd be knocked out.

Guys from Fulham, Arsenal, Deportivo, Palermo, West Brom and MLS were on their team.

Annddd Canada gets a TOUGH draw in round 4 if we advance. We would play mexico honduras and winner of (el salavador/ curacao). 6 games played in thr group. Home and away. Top 2 advance.

Group B is the real group of Death though

Costa Rica
Panama
Haiti (If they beat Grenada)
Jamaica (If they beat Nicaragua)

This World Cup qualifying in CONCACAF will be the most competitive ever with the USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, Trinidad and Panama all good enough to make the world cup but only 3.5 will.

Belize won't be an issue but conceivably being in a group with El Salvador and Honduras already gives me nightmares.

Any group Canada is in would be hard because there is 6 team definitely better than us in CONCACAF
