Much needed $950 million renovation announced for Omaha's airport. The airport currently has two terminals that are not connected so there are two separate security checkpoint and with the split travelers, there is a limited amount of dining options post security in each terminal. The new terminal will feature one centralized entrance to have all the gates together and offer a lot more options post-security.
Another cool development along the Riverfront was announced today. $300 mixed-use development centred around a 7,000 seat soccer stadium for the Union Omaha soccer club (with plans for a women's team too). Additional development includes 100,000 SF of commercial space, a 140 key hotel, and 330 residential units.
With the announcement of the soccer stadium and surrounding development on that land previously owned by Gallup, I wonder if Gallup will make a move somewhere else downtown? Their HQ creates a situation where the soccer stadium is isolated from the rest of downtown.

Yeah let's get them into another new tall downtown skyscraper and turn that site into a sports-oriented entertainment district on the riverfront. It only makes sense!
