aaayyy -- based on the construction firm materials searches and orders there is informal news from sw that this hq tower will indeed rival key tower, cleveland's tallest (948' w/spire/57 fl).

we'll see what what that plays out as -- but great to hear!

I believe it will be a strong design that goes over 1,000. The cancelled Ameritrust project was supposed to be over 1,000 back in the early 1990's and this will make up for that. I am guessing closer to 1,100.

I suppose it depends on the top. 850’ w/o spire would be taller to the roof than Key.

i believe the key roof is 888'/271m

i'm not too concerned with Pickard Chilton at the helm.

they're solid when it comes to tall office buildings.

we probably won't get the most avant garde deisgn in the world from them, but that's not necessarliy a bad thing either.

there's still something to be said for classy and restrained.

it is a conservative old company, so the choice did not surprize me.

that said, based on their work i am sure it will at least be nice.

who knows though, this is the fun part for them, designing their new digs, we could even be amazed. so we'll see what we get.

Of the above towers, I believe Devon Energy in OKC and Northwestern Mutual Tower in Milwaukee are the only two purpose-built, single tenant corporate HQ towers.

And they're two of Pickard Chilton's best, IMO, so that bodes well for this project.

yeah we have been looking at their site.

all great examples of meh, but nice.

the difference for cleveland is it is a multi-building site.

that will be an interesting twist for them.

but let's also hope they can figure in more materials than just blue glass.

I really hope they stretch the height of this one and also go with a taper/spire. A flat roof is not needed in that location. A building in between the size/height of the Terminal tower and Key Tower with a taper/spire would complete a nice trio IMO.

there is a new recent rumor it could be short stubby buildings, but lets not go there, lets wait and see.

also, they were seen drilling around the sites all the way down for bedrock -- why bother if you are going stubby?

i would imagine there are various massings, with parking being a wildcard factor.

they need a million sq ft of structured parking on this campus, so it depends what they want to build on top of any of it, if anything.

the snap of the pickard chilton massings on the insta above remains the best 'proof' of anything, which isnt much to go on and wasnt even necessarily sw hq, it was just a suspicion.

so we wait.
