Omaha 1614 Dodge St Mutual of Omaha HQ - Construction begins January 2023

Mutual of Omaha’s new corporate headquarters will become Omaha’s tallest building, rising 677 feet, 44 floors, adding a new, dynamic element to the city’s urban core. I was hoping it would break the 700 ft mark, however I am still happy with this new addition. A new street car will be built from the Univ of Nebraska Medical Center to the downtown core running next to the HQ at 1614 Dodge St.The library has been torn down and site preparation is underway with construction slated to begin in January 2023. A new library will go into a renovated 110 year old building near the Old Market at 1401 Jones St.

That's great. Love the reworked crown that now glows. It's not the most radical design, but both the client and the city are relatively conservative. It fits well.

Very striking and dynamic for a mid sized city like Omaha! Wish my old city (Philadelphia) had the foresight to build such a tower or towers like that proposal! Keep it up, Omaha!

That's seems just like a smaller version of SF's Salesforce tower. There was even a version to replace one of the old midtown hotels in NYC a few years ago. I don't think that is anything special. One and Two Liberty Place in Philly are much nicer looker, in my opinion.

I might be a little biased because I live in Philly but I think very few buildings are better looking than One and Two Liberty Place. That being said, this is a beautiful building and a new tallest in any city is exciting! Good stuff Omaha.

Mutual of Omaha Breaks Ground on 44 Story Downtown Headquarters Tower

Quote:
OMAHA, Neb. (Jan. 25, 2023) – Mutual of Omaha has officially started construction of a new 44-story headquarters tower in downtown Omaha that will support the insurance and financial services company’s future growth while contributing to the economic vitality of the city’s urban core.

Mutual Chairman and CEO James Blackledge was joined by Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and other dignitaries for a ceremonial groundbreaking to kick off construction of the 677-foot tall office tower, which is slated to open in 2026.

Very nice building Omaha! I wish we could get a new Tallest in Minneapolis! Nice buildings in Minny but been in a "High Rise" drought for many years. Something like this would be nice!

As stated construction has started on this tower, can thread be moved to “under construction” forum?

How do we get this tower added to the diagrams (not picture even, just talking description)?
