No, it is most likely the softball field at the corner of 16th and Mecaslin.

What's the construction going on at the corner of 14th and Spring? There has been a crane digging there for a few weeks.

I did a little digging on the City of Atlanta online site looking for building permits, and this is the best I could find, I think it's the right site but I'm not certain.

At 22 14th street, there was a permit filed by a Matt Smith, his email, [email protected], so interesting that it is something Novare may be doing. It says the scope is: PSAP-DEMO EXTERIOR DEMOLITION. So not details on what's really happening.

That's pretty much all I could get off the building permit, and I'm somewhat certain it's the correct site, but not completely sure.

I'm pretty sure they were just revamping that electrical substation on Spring. The crane appears to be demobilizing now.

Some randome updates:

Ligne Roset is BACK! LoL I don't get it. I wonder how these uber expensive furniture shops are doing, I never see anyone in there or BB Home. I actually love a lot of the furniture in Bobby Berk, but $5,000 for a contemporary wooden dresser? Uh no.

I ate at Mi Cocina one night. It was pretty good, but I imagine that it will be more of a go-to restaurant for the suburanites who venture in than the everyday residents of Midtown.

La Tagliatella is coming along...should be opening within a month or two.

Little Azio is closing reportedly.

Why the hell have Cafe Intermezzo and Republic of Couture not commenced buildout yet?? Cafe's permits were filed a LONG time ago, I think. I just read where Republic of Couture is opening in the South Loop of Chicago, as well...so they may be on a "forefront" of destination neighborhoods binge.

I am really impressed with the dual-branded hotel at 10th and Williams. I like the flags on Williams St, though they should add them to the 10th St side. The lobby and restaurant buildouts appear done and the hotel has an amazing presence from the highway, especially heading north.

10th and Piedmont appears to be within a month of opening. It looks pretty good!

Park & 12th apartments appear just about full.

PWC sign is now at top of 1075 Peachtree. Building looks a lot more full, too.

1010 Condos look pretty much full now. The Atlantic looks pretty much full now, too.

Looking forward to all the new construction that will happen in 2013 (as much as I hate the use, I'm glad the Proton Therapy thing will be plugging in a hole, and of course as much as I hate the design, I'm glad 100 6th will be plugging in another hold). I think Midtown is on the verge of having a real critical mass of sustainable walking population. I know some more stores are going into the Westside (like solid mall/high street stores), so the migration is getting closer and closer.

Eco Denizen at 999 Peachtree is having its Tuesday night Holiday party tomorrow for those wanting something to do.

It looks fantastic at night when approaching from the south on the connector. From the north, it looks very underwhelming, kind of cheesy with that red neon stripe. They need to add something to the north facing wall to make it more unique.

I imagine they will, they still have 6 more floors to go, but then again, I am no expert/

A much needed, large park could be coming to Buckhead.

I'm not here to spread rumors...

But has anyone else heard that Intercontinental Hotels has approached Integral for a hotel at the corner of Ivan Allen and Centennial??

From 10th and Piedmont:

They started raising up the sign on the north side of the building today, seen on the sidewalk on Peachtree.

I don't see how Bobby Berk survives. It's completely redundant with Room & Board. Is Ligne Roset a franchise? Why wouldn't they go to the Westside where other high end shops are?

I'd like to think Midtown is at critical mass but then I see Viewpoint basically has zero occupancy of the retail spaces. That hair place and, I forget... a cellular shop?

Buckhead Atlanta developers have filed permits to (at last) green-light vertical construction for the $1 billion project's initial phase, which includes two 12-story apartment towers, 300,000 square feet of retail and 98,000 square feet of office space.
Yep only 12-story towers !!

^^^Not necessarily new news about the 12-floor height, but again without reading the permits and seeing the plans, this could be two 12-floor buildings on top of that massive garage they are building (the garage is massive and so high that 12 floors in total does not leave that many floors for apartments...and we're talking 300 apartments like Skyhouse...23 floors and like 77 12th...22 huge floors). Renderings show 2 12-ish floor buildings on top of the garage, so in reality we may be pushing 20 floors in the aggregate.

Drove on 10th street past the new dual branded hotel tonight. It was very impressive looking from the street on the south and west sides...much nicer than I expected it to turn out. Progress in its construction was very quick. It looked like they are getting very close to opening.
