With the wild speculation of real estate beginning to wane with foreign buyers ban and a potentially shrinking population, I really hope all these new towers are built with housing people in mind and not just a place to park your money and flip. Some of the towers built in downtown Toronto over the last few years are in real financial trouble as condo sales have fallen while people don't want to rent them because they are too small and often have completely irregular shapes rendering them useless for day to day living needs.

^Condo sales in TO are at their lowest since 1990, but that downward trend should begin to reverse as the B.o.C.'s key interest rate continues to decline.

Future skyline between Tremblay and St. Laurent O-Train Stations. Would love to see the mall on one side, and the Canadian Tire, Best Buy and baseball stadium parking lots on the other redeveloped. This is a decent start on one of the most depressing stretches of road in old Ottawa.

A cool look at Vancouver’s potential future skyline with Holborn’s proposal.

That actually looks kind of cool. I was afraid it would look crazy due to being out of proportion but while the skyline massing could be better, it doesn't look bad.

It doesn't look too out-of-scale from this low, across-the-water viewpoint, but from some others it'll look absolutely massive. Still, that's not necessarily a bad thing - if it's an iconic building it should stand out to some degree (eg. the CN Tower).

When it comes to scale, IMO it's more about typology and street-level presence than height. A 20-storey slab apartment in a fine-grained 3-4 storey historic neighbourhood is more egregious than a 300m skyscraper surrounded by 100m skyscraper.
