Even though I've heard they changed the design again, I'm still excited for this many new people in the core. With at least 500 new people downtown living and walking and cycling and shopping, I think there will be a noticeable difference with this and a few other developments. It's like that this time next year there will already be an extra thousand or so people living downtown, plus an additional thousand a few years after that.

Hope not the final, the towers are a bit Legoland to me , but the worst for me is that king and Hughson corner is so 70s , would prefer if they just took the black frame beside it and extend and wrap the corner.

Not a fan of the King and Hughson podium. Could fit right in with Hamilton Central Police Station.

Podium is absolutely terrible but I like the towers. Looks like modern brutalism.

at least the brick of the podium will fit in with the renovated brick of the arliss building - that kinda throws things off in the render at m as it shows the current facade.

But yeah the designs of the podium are very 80s.

Also LOL at the fact they just copy pasted the building to the right of the arliss building 4 times

This is G+C guys. It’s gunna be crap. It’s gunna be a nice addition of density, but be very, very ugly. Everything they touch turns to a steaming pile of sh*t

^ certainly they have a modern flair , but their Canderel and Mattamy projects look decent - mind you these are quality developrs , so hopefully Liuna can get the same fit and finish

Aura is a giant awkward pile of mishmashed styles that is completely incoherent - YC condos has this unbelievably terrible and extremely cheap orange spandrel on its podium levels, and Waterpark place is generally ugly with the latest building by them in the area passing at best as “well it’s not *really* ugly”.

These guys don’t know anything but spandrel and don’t have the first clue about proper proportions or final detailing.

If it turns out anything like this, it'll be wonderful.
I hope the balcony cladding is white, or black or red, or purple...ANYTHING but freaking beige or brown. Hamilton should have a 100-year moratorium on any large building using brown or beige.

Otherwise, this has potential to be a great modern addition to the core.... sure, in TO these designs are pretty common and don't jump out, but here this would be a landmark due to our skyline being drab commie-blocks.

You are conveniently ignoring the god awful podium levels:
