It's amazing how a place can be transformed in such a small about of time. AND there's been TONNES more skyscraper action in Dubai since 2003! It truely is the playground for the super-wealthy! I would love to visit someday!

I thought Keith's was now brewed in Ontario, having been bought out and the operation moved out of Nova Scotia.

Some years ago Keith’s was bought by Labatt, which is owned by Anheuser-Busche Inbev (The largest brewing company in the world). So the Labatt brewery here brews it. It's also brewed in most of the other Labatt breweries around the country including Ontario, Quebec, BC and even in New York state.

Anything in a stumpy newfoundland bottle is brewed and bottled here.

Also, if you're interested in buying local... there's no difference between Blue Star or Budweiser... or for that matter Black Horse and Coors Light (both owned by MolsonCoors). They are all owned and operated by the two brewing companies which control half of all beer on earth. The Bud and Blue Star are both brewed and bottled here... so they contribute to our economy… in the same way a Big Mac made here does. However, it's all owed by Anheuser-Busche Inbev. (It's all crap anyway... but that's just my opinion... and i'm a bit of beer snob haha.)

On the other hand, QV, YB and Storm are actual local beers. They are brewed, bottled, owned and operated here in NL. I also think they offer superior beers. But I mostly drink some of the nicer craft beers I can get my hands on at the liquor store.


Anyways... that was an off topic rant. But I'm a huge beer lover and I think it's important for people to understand when a product is local and when it's only sort of local.

To this day I refuse to consume Labatt products. Why? They closed down their Stephenville brewery in 1981 and moved all operations to St. John's. It seems redundant since it was before I was even born, but hey, it's an excuse to not consume Labatt's more than anything else.
