It's like this gem on Kenmount Road. Doesn't matter WTF goes in this building, it's a Chinese takeaway.

Nice find! Glad to see that the most recent pic in the second link is the IDA drugstore Pizza Hut I've posted on here before from Cedarbrae (a community which itself belongs in this thread) in Calgary's SW. They were going to open a methadone clinic next door but Nimby's crushed that and forced it out of the city all together.

no worries, we are big on student housing too. Biggest industry in London, matter of fact.

What got me about the bedrooms is that these are recently built homes with 90's style ceiling fans. That plus the oppressive beigeness and the old lady sanitary napkin curtains.

I wish these pictures could properly convey the shanty town character of these structures in real life. In these low res photos it all seems to mesh together but in real life the transition from the hard beige / grey stucco to vinyl siding on the next wall is jarring.

By "snout nose", you mean the protruding garages? The first one doesn't have that and actually looks pretty good to me, in standard modern suburb terms, although it would benefit from a bit of landscaping. For all four, the only element I see that approaches "ugly" (imho) would be the excessive driveway coverage in the last of the four, due I assume to a curve in the street.

I do agree that the stucco/siding combinations are an ugly feature. The equivalent homes here would have brick rather than stucco, but the end result is equally unpleasant.
