The man who designed Philly’s most expensive condo is leaving his architecture firm after 40 years

I think someone on here once described Cecil Baker as, “the Nickelback of Architecture.” Truer words have never been spoken.

The Bellevue renovation, not new construction.

Per the article...

The landmark Center City building was purchased by Lubert-Adler Partners in late 2021 with plans for an internal makeover. Office space will be turned into 200 to 300 apartments and the hotel will see upgrades with Parisian flair. A skating rink, swimming pool, and bar and restaurant will be installed on the rooftop. On the ground level, the retail space will be opened up into one expansive floor. Three restaurants are planned, with details of each expected to be announced in the first quarter of the year. The renovation project of the 119-year-old building is a bid to kickstart a renaissance of Broad and Walnut streets, Lubert-Adler CEO Dean Adler told the Business Journal after acquiring the building.

Sorry for crappy phone pics, but it looks like Comcast I's new lights are fully on. They're on as a warmer yellow tone that matches the color of Comcast II. Maybe their new default color?

Looking at the camera on Fox 29, the lights do look brighter. Hopefully it's lit green by Sunday if the lights are mostly up to the parapet by now

It also looks like the FAA lights are off. When I was taking photos at the end of January, I noticed the two lights on the west side of the roof were off

Here's a less bad one. You can see the individual lights a bit better. Hopefully someone with a better (real) camera can get a pic

@TK it is much brighter. It caught my attention because it looked much more on par with Comcast II instead of being drowned out

Also that balcony light on the right has been out for a while now

Thanks! Looking more closely, it looks like they still have one more row to do at the top actually. It's just dark so I didn't notice initially.

Maybe TK is right and they're expediting the install to 'debut' the first color change to green for the Super Bowl?

I'll be getting shots from Jersey this weekend. It'll be easy to find out once I see it and compare it with previous photos
