And he also said that Lindbergh needed a grocery store even though it's not a grocery store he's pushing but instead Walmart. Personally I'm believing too much of what he says.

Yeah, you would think that as the streetcar is going to have such an effect on redevelopment of the area that they would include some of the redevelopment in their rendering. I almost wanna take it and put some in there myself, but I'm lazy/don't have the time.

There's a car on the tracks! This can't be an official rendering...

Why? It's going to run with in the same lane as cars.

Fuqua Glenwood

Fuqua you, Glenwood. Fuqua's development plan just hit the Loaf and it's even crappier than advertised. How come Selig can build a WalMart in Decatur with parking under the building itself, but Fuqua needs an island of asphalt? Even more curious... Why is this man so hell bent on bringing WalMart to the city?

Plans are here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/106826338/Fuqua-Development-800-Glenwood-Avenue-Site-Plans-Atlanta

One of the comments suggests putting big box retail at the Parmalat plant on Memorial instead. Isn't the Wal-Mart on Gresham close enough? And there's a Target on Moreland already. I hope they don't ruin one of the most walkable neighborhoods with a sea of asphalt.

Meanwhile, article14 has tables, chairs, and booths, and Olmstead is NOW OPEN, but only for brunch all week long. And 77 12th is flying up now! McTavish Pavillion is holding tours during Tech home football games, and the dual branded hotel is really coming along. I love my commute!

14Street Construction

I noticed on my to work this morning that the demolition of the former Metrotainment Bakery has started at the corner of Howell Mill Road and 14th Street. I believe an apartment complex is planned for this site.

Yes! I'm so glad something is going here and I hope it has retail all around the structure! I saw a rendering somewhere on here but can't remember where...

^^^I don't think there is a public rendering yet and I haven't seen any floating around. I believe from what I have heard it will have deck parking beneath and in the middle, retail along the streetfronts, 4 floors of stick construction above. Don't expect anything fancy, but I do know that the original developers of White Provision before Jamestown took over are still involved with the retail component of the new apartment building, but that they sold development rights to a different group for the multifamily component. Had heard back in May/June that the financing was in place.

Also, Walton Communities' development on Huff is in similar stages.

Here's the rendering you saw. You quoted it in a thread in the Atl subforum.

Link please. Pics not coming through and I want to see! Thanks for the rendering above, I had not seen it yet. I have seen a rendering of NAP's Eastside project that seems to have fizzled by the lack of press lately (hopefully it and AMLI's will commence construction soonish).
