That's not shrinkage?

You’re the guy that didn’t like my word... which literally means “reduction in size.”

I’m not picking a fight here, just genuinely not sure why that’s inaccurate.

Also: I totally meant it to refer back to Seinfeld, so congrats OdelayB!

Is Lynd Co not involved in this project anymore? I thought it was a joint venture between them and Lincoln, but there’s a different residential company listed in that brochure.

Lynd changed their name to Kairoi Residential.

Thought someone had mentioned a couple pages back that it could be 890 feet, I guess that was wishful thinking. Still the height makes up more than enough for its design IMO and honestly it's really not a bad design. Could be better but it could also be way worse.

Also what's with the whole lowrise/highrise office separation? They are in the same tower so I wouldn't call it low rise simply because it's closer to the ground. A VMU is a lowrise in my book.

That's not a reference to height, technically anyway. They are referring to the elevator banks. Some of the elevators open only to the 'lowrise' floors, and others speed past the lowrise floors and open only on the 'highrise' floors. It's more efficient and you aren't waiting forever on an elevator that has to stop on all the floors.

Someone very involved recently said 890 ft, which is what it originally was. But they could also have just been remembering the old height.

I see what you mean about the seperate elevators.

Thanks for the clarification on the height.

Would be nice if they could bump it up to 920 feet so we can surpass the tallest building in Dallas.

Am curious about levels 34-35 that separate the "high rise" office floors from the residential levels above. There appears to be a large open space, so will that be some kind of amenity level for the residents?

I believe BOA Tower is 921'. Doesn't matter. I say it should be 1005' to surpass Chase Tower in Houston.

Imagine the skyscraper bragging rights going to Austin as far as the tallest in the state of Texas. I find that unlikely, but no longer 'Highly' unlikely. In fact, I'll go as far as saying its a minuscule, minutely, and extremely remote possibility that we will eventually get a tallest in TX. But I won't say its impossible. Having 20 or more 500 + footers with 10 or more 600 + footers in the end would seem more likely with three or four 700 - 800+ footers topping it out. And what I mean, in the end, is the time Austin is finally built out.

Sir, with all due respect, you misunderstood me. I too, do not think Austin will (in the medium term) have the tallest building in Texas. It's a pipe dream at best.

Heck, this tower went from being a 870' building to the possibility of being a 75-story, 1000+ ft. tower...back down to a 842' building (supposedly due to the friggin' FAA).

Bottom line...Austin is getting a structure that will place it in third place in Texas regarding height...behind Houston & Dallas respectively.

Didn't misunderstand you, just sharing the dream. In no way did I think you thought it would happen, I just tagged your post as my platform to give my person opinion. And btw, I enjoy your input being one of the few from outside of Austin area posting on the Austin thread and coming from a city, San Antonio, that is my second favorite city in TX. I love visiting SA and in fact will be down there for a few days in June and very much looking forward to it. Its awesome to hear you cheer us on.
