It's interesting to note that the big problem with the demolition was that the old hotel had structural deficiencies that meant it was much slower and more expensive to demolish safely (as well as having more asbestos than JMX had been told about). That explains why it took so much longer than they originally announced.
JMX has more than a few issues at hand right now, as it stands most major GCs in the City will not work with them. I know they were not allowed to bid on the Four Seasons work for instance.

Thank!
Those balconies are driving me nuts, I just don't like the idea of a neighbour having an angle sight only meters for my windows. No... would not buy.

Not a lot of progress for a whole month, but I guess it is the podium.

The cladding is going to really make or break this one. It could be a real classy building if they use high quality cladding

Almost four weeks later. Most of the visible progress has been at the east end of the site (last pic below).

A clockwise walk around the site today.

Starting at Robson and Nicola, up Robson to Broughton, south on Broughton to the alley, down the alley going west, and then north on Nicola to Robson again.

Not much progress to see on the west end of the project in almost four weeks but the tower on the other end has popped up a couple more floors.

Towers are finally rising but they won't have the presence the hotel used to have.

Indeed. This isn't an improvement to this block.

Social housing in a gentrifying area is seen as a welcome and the 360 public realm improvements are leaps and bounds better.

EDIT: This still has 50 or so social housing units right?! I stopped paying attention to this slow project.

It will be a huge improvement on the street. The hotel had almost no retail or public space, a driveway, and parking on upper floors.
